Kelabit Dictionary
As spoken in Lung Napir and Lung Seridan
Mutang Urud

This dictionary has been the result of collaborative work over many years, to document and revitalize our language, the Kelabit of the Meri’it and Seridan variant. This is also the first comprehensive documentation of the Kelabit–Lun Tauh language in general, which, for thousands of years, has been purely an oral language.

This book is only a start to the enormous task of documenting the language. Language is an ever-changing cultural tool, continuously adapted to express current ideas and  practicalities of modern life. I offer here a first edition, a work in progress, knowing that, as my linguist friend Ian Mackenzie says, working on a dictionary is a task that takes a lifetime. To the best of my ability, I consulted many native speakers on the meaning of each word and its translation. Despite that, I am fully aware that errors do occur, and therefore I assume full responsibility for all translation and technical errors that appear here.
